Abstract: This study emphasises the significance of designing composites with ply drop-offs that are subjected to the combined effect of excessive stresses, which causes buckling and failure. Composites which are buckled due to stresses are evaluated by selecting the areas where the loads are varied with thickness because of design requirements. The aim is to determine the impact of drop-offs, or the termination of plies at various degrees on the buckling nature, as it causes stresses to concentrate more at geometric discontinuities there by affecting the stiffness of the plates. To design and analyse Ansys Composite Pre-post Tool is used. According to the findings of the study, the critical buckling loads of all laminate configurations are influenced by aspect ratio and as the number of layers increases, so does the buckling load, as the interface between each layer increases, requiring a large amount of load to obtain the critical buckling.
