Abstract: In this paper, an innovative modular rail service based on teleoperated rail is presented and compared to a classical scheme in the multimodal terminal at Le Havre Port. Indeed, a model of the multimodal platform is proposed performing massified exchange between maritime terminal and its Hinterland, and then an innovative scheme using radio-controlled wagons is designed. The major difference between classical and innovative scheme that in the last one, the aim is to release the locomotive as soon as the wagons have reached their destinations. The arrangement of the wagons on the tracks is no longer done by the locomotive but the wagons are motorised and remotely operated. The perimeter of the model is delimited, on the one hand, by the arrival of containers in handling areas in maritime terminal. And, on the other hand, departure of trains and barge in the multimodal terminal. Some rules and optimisation are used to improve output of the developed model. Finally, to compare classical vs. innovative scheme, some pertinent indicators are proposed and used to highlight the effectiveness of our approach.
