Abstract: Measurement of Transmission Errors (TE) in gear mechanisms is the effective method for evaluation of their NVH parameters. It is especially important for various automotive axles in all-wheel-drive vehicles, where NVH standards are very high. A new method using mathematical Spline Interpolation allows increasing measurement accuracy through application of Rotary Encoders. The most revolutionary feature of the new method of separation the desired TE signal from other similar measurement |noise| sources with similar spectrums. Production trials of this innovative technology have produced extremely successful results in contrast to standard industry practices.
