Abstract: Psychological capital as conceptualised by the pioneers involves the four state-like characteristics of hope, optimism, self-efficacy and resilience within the existing framework. This paper attempts to broaden and build the base of psychological capital by encompassing the positive psychological resources that have productive and adaptive value in work situations and non-work situations. This is about the fundamental intra-individual sub-systems of cognition, affect, motivation and the personality trait processes which become fundamental to any or all of the positive psychological resources identified and yet to be identified. The positive psychological capital is further differentiated into general psychological capital and OB capital.
