Abstract: Technological advancements and globalised market competition has urged the manufacturing industries to deploy skilled and acumen workforce, use of digital and standardised working procedures and optimise utilisation of resources. Till the year 2011, three industrial revolutions have contributed expressively to meet the vacillating customer requirements. After that, the term Industry 4.0 was coined by Germany; joint effort of industrialists, academicians and researchers. Industry 4.0 or smart manufacturing encompasses advanced technologies like IoT, cyber physical system (CPS), big data analytics, cloud computing, machine learning, augmented reality, additive manufacturing, machine to machine communication etc. Vitality of Industry 4.0 is spreading exponentially since last one decade. However, Industry 4.0 has many social implications which have been discussed in this paper. Interpretive structural modelling (ISM) technique has been applied to find interaction among identified social implications. Diagraph has been prepared showing various levels of social implications.
