Abstract: This research intends to shed light on the behavioural multi-criteria decision making through a four-step systematic literature review approach. Hence, based on the research purpose and its theme we used Scopus database; thus purposefully and based on author-defined criteria we collected 77 relevant papers out of all 329 researches published until 2019. Using systematic approach to the Scopus-indexed published research contents and contexts in the behavioural multi-criteria decision making domain revealed considerable paucity in using qualitative methodologies, personality characteristics of decision-makers, new methodologies such as futures study and strategic approaches, beside demonstrating narrow interest of the under developed and developing country researches in this domain. The study implication for the behavioural MCDM researchers is to consider and incorporate soft OR paradigm in their future research to compensate the current unbalance in the MCDM literature.
