Abstract: The objective of this paper is to investigate the age friendly city indicators in Mashhad by using World Health Organization standards and specialised researches done in line with age-friendly city parameters. A quantitative research method was used and 427 questionnaires distributed among two groups of people, urban managers and elderlies. Results show that there is a large gap between the two groups. All the indices are lower than the standards from the perspective of old people and none of them have reached to score of 4 or 5 (Maximum Desirability), while managers believe that they have had the maximum performance and Mashhad is in a suitable and ideal status. As a whole, in the study area, region 10 has had a better condition in line with age-friendly city indicators than regions 1 and 6 except social respect and cultural recreational parameters. Solutions to improve the overall status of Mashhad are presented.
