Abstract: The ultimate objective of any supply chain logistics ecosystem is that the processes involved should be simple, economical and provide more employment opportunities to a larger section of the society in a humane way. This paper describes a detailed case on the inefficiencies of the current manual loading of polymer filled bags by labourers in trucks and containers for dispatch to domestic markets and exports at Panipat Petrochemical Marketing Complex (PPMC) of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. The objective of the paper is to develop and propose a unique and innovative system or device in existing supply chain which can be used by the labourers to reduce the time of loading and increase their personal income, yielding a better brand image and customer satisfaction for the corporation. The proposed system being efficient, contributes a unique and practical way of overcoming a socio-economic problem being faced in the supply chain at PPMC, Panipat.
