Abstract: IoT has become the go-to buzzword for the new age IT deployments and corporate businesses. IoT devices are designed to make life easier and comfortable. In simple terms, IoT is everyday objects with computing features embedded inside to send and receive data over the internet. Most IoT devices have limited resources, catering for computation, memory, storage and bandwidth for IoT application and nothing else. Traditional privacy protection relied on displaying data summary to the requester without controls. This research presents a secure model to enhance the IoT architecture, with metrics and security levels implementing private access point name (APN) as a security alternative. The authors have successfully implemented and tested the proposed design using private access point name, the results for which displayed enhanced results.
