Title: Environmental information disclosure in ecotel hotels in India - an exploratory study to understand the environmental information available on the hotel's website

Abstract: The purpose of the study is to analyse the environmental information disclosure in ecotel hotels in India. Ecotel hotels are environmentally friendly hotels that focus on conserving the environment, protecting natural resources, and involved in sustainable business practices. The concept of ecotel hotel creates a competitive edge for the ecotel hotel when compared to the non-ecotel hotel. The competitive advantage can be realised when the environmental information is visible and available for the stakeholders. For the study, two popular ecotels hotels in India was selected. A set of 30 environmental information category was chosen for the present study. Based on the environmental information category, information available on the selected ecotel hotel website was collected and evaluated. The study is restricted only to two ecotel hotels in India. The results of the study provide insights into environmental information disclosure of ecotels hotels.
