Abstract: With the growing number of higher educational institutes in India, the level of competition has increased. It has also lead to an increment of work pressure and stress amongst the employees. The literature indicates the quality of life decreases the stress and hence it may lead to happiness and happiness at the workplace is the indicator of quality work environment and performance. The study of Ferriss (2002) also supports this idea, he examined the quality of life and religion with Judio - Christian life perspective and his study indicated that it leads to happiness. The study of Hindu mythology on quality of life and happiness is untouched. On the above background, the current study has focussed on exploring the dimensions of the Hindu mythology way of living life as suggested by Lord Krishna on happiness with the mediating effect of quality of life. The data supports the hypotheses and the study indicates happiness can be used for enhancing the work environment and the Hindu mythology way of living life can play a major role in that.
