Abstract: The automotive industry is looked upon as one of the main sectors of transportation in today's sophisticated business systems and bringing these realities into mind, studying the issues of this industry in Iran will find a high importance. The aim of this study is to investigate the barriers and issues of car exports in Iran based on Porter's diamond model of national competition. Hereupon, a related body of literature reviewed status of car exports in the world. Based on Porter's model, including the four main variables and the two mediator variables, six hypotheses have been proposed. To examine the indicators a questionnaire of 25 questions is extended. After data mining and analysis of the results, five out of six hypotheses are approved. Strategy, government, related and supportive industries, chance, demand conditions factors have been accepted after conducting T-test analysis. After discussing the results there are some recommendations for improving the situation of car exports in Iran.
