Abstract: Secure authentication is necessary in a cloud computing environment for ensuring that sensitive data and resources can only be accessed by authorised users and systems. The aim of this research is to generate a key for secure authentication in a cloud computing environment based on novel optimisation. The hierarchy of the proposed model rely upon numerous entities such as user, cloud server, trusted authority, initialisation phase, registration phase, login phase, mutual authentication phase, key generation phase, password update phase, and identity update phase. In the key generation phase, the hybrid optimisation algorithm black winged herd optimisation (BHO) is used for key generation. Here, the BHO is the combination of black winged kite algorithm (BKA) and elk herd optimiser (EHO). The proposed BHO_KeyGen model has been inferred to have acquired a minimum value of memory usage, computational time, normalised variance is 30.1 MB, 39.679 sec, 0.588 and maximum conditional privacy is 91.758.
Keywords: cloud computing; authentication; elk herd optimisation; black-winged kite algorithm; key generation.
