Abstract: Smart cities use IoT technology to build a massive data perception network, achieve interconnection between urban facilities, and promote real-time data collection, thereby providing accurate decision-making support for urban management. At the same time, it fully utilises the latest achievements in information and communication technology (ICT) to promote the comprehensive digitalisation and intelligentisation of cities. In terms of sustainability, smart cities integrate renewable energy, green buildings and intelligent transportation systems to promote green and low-carbon development and reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions. In summary, smart cities demonstrate the unique charm of the digital age through automated and intelligent management, cutting-edge technology integration, open data platforms, and green and low-carbon models, providing strong support for solving urban problems, improving residents' quality of life, and achieving sustainable urban development.
