Abstract: The purpose of the study is to reveal new trends in the sustainable development of territories in the period of a pandemic, as well as to determine the role of public administration in addressing issues of the socio-economic and environmental well-being of the population at the stage of post-crisis recovery. The authors analysed the changes that have occurred in the implementation of the sustainable development agenda of territories and conducted a comparative cross-country analysis of the effects of the pandemic on the sustainable development of territories. The article proves that during the pandemic there were significant changes in the life patterns of society, which led to the development of responsible production and consumption. It is demonstrated that the implementation of the state policy to stimulate environmental innovations meets the objectives of sustainable development of territories. Specific measures have been proposed to stimulate environmental innovation in Russia.
