Abstract: Aviation is the fastest and safest mode of transportation in the current era, and this industry has maintained this status for many years. In 1970, Southwest Airlines introduced a new business model for airline operations called the low-cost airline. In this article, we will conduct a bibliometric analysis of research papers published on low-cost airlines. For this purpose, we will use the Dimensions database and VOSviewer as bibliometric analysis tools. Using VOSviewer, we will analyse 1,608 research papers. The main parameters analysed are co-authorship analysis, citations analysis, and co-citations keyword analysis. In co-authorship analysis, three parameters are used: author, institute, and country. In citation analysis, five parameters are used: document, source, author, institute, and country. In co-citational analysis, two parameters are used: cited references and cited authors. This article will focus on the top-performing parameters.
Keywords: budget airlines; low-cost airlines; VOSviewer; bibliometric analysis; dimensions.
