Abstract: The paper proposes to discuss effective usage of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) to enhance the levels and reach of population. While focusing on importance of institutional rural credit for the institutional rural credit for the Bottom of the Pyramid (Prahalad, 2002) generation of buying power of the concerned population, it uses some examples to identify technological innovations to reinforce its proposition of an effective usage of ICTs for expanding the reach and levels of institutional credit. It basically addresses the capabilities of bottom of pyramid populace to develop the economy as a whole.
