Abstract: A systematic review of the literature on the impact of information and communication technology (ICT) in supply chain management (SCM) has been presented in this study. The benefits of ICT deployment for SCM, the supply chain performance measures and constructs and SCM process reference models developed by supply chain council and global supply chain forum (GSCF) are presented. Several ICT tools that are widely deployed and emerging tools have been discussed. Also, the impacts of these ICT tools across various facets and echelons of the supply chain have been presented. Though it is well-known that ICT positively affects SCM performance and improves supply chain capabilities, the dearth of literature in the quantification of the impacts and a need for a generic framework for performance measurement of ICT deployment for SCM open avenues for further research.

Keywords: information and communication technology; ICT; supply chain management; SCM; supply chain performance measurement; supply chain operations reference; SCOR; supply chain metrics.
