The cluster model: whether and what developing countries should learn from advanced countries

Abstract: The aim of this paper is to discuss the potential use of the cluster model in the context of developing countries. Although we know this is by no means a new issue, we are convinced that some contributions can still be added to the discussion. Particularly, we focus on two questions: the first refers to the validity of the cluster model today, while the second concerns the particularities that, according to some recent experiences, the cluster model presents in developing countries.
