	Abstract:	China's WTO entry is expected to boost the domestic and global economy. However, achieving this goal depends on whether the government of China can succeed in adapting itself to the requirements of the WTO and synchronising itself with other members to facilitate global cooperation and economic development. The Chinese government has been working seriously to meet this challenge and the first year's experience of being a WTO member seems very successful. In this paper, we analyse how an e-government development strategy would help the Chinese government take advantage of the opportunities and overcome the difficulties of being a new member of the WTO. Key e-government initiatives are discussed in detail in three major categories: Government-to-Government (G2G), Government-to-Business (G2B), and Government-to-Citizens (G2C).
