Abstract: Organisations participating in business webs, share and exchange data. Inter-organisational data networks are characterised by independent and distributed data sources, and frequent data interchanges. In such networks, it is important that organisations be able to evaluate the quality of data received from other organisations. We propose a framework for managing data quality in inter-organisational data networks using the information product approach. We first highlight the requirements for data quality management in such networks. We then describe the metadata specifications for the interchange of data. We further propose a technique using this framework for managing data quality in inter-organisational data networks.
