Abstract: In the study, Taguchi method, a powerful tool in the design of experiment, is used to optimise the drilling parameter for effective drilling of e-glass fibre reinforced polymer composite (E-GFRPC). An L19 (45) orthogonal array, the signal to noise ratio, the analysis of variance (ANOVA) and 'F' test are employed to identify the significant factors for drilled hole deviation and surface roughness height, Ra. Considering significant parameters and using Matlab, the mathematical models for drilled hole deviation and surface roughness height are established for effective drilling of E-GFRPC. The effect of drilling parameters on drilled hole deviation and surface roughness height are analysed through various graphs. Microphotographs of the drilled holes and chips formed during machining exhibit the actual characteristics of drilling. From the investigated results, it has been found that at 800 rpm spindle speed and 0.02 mm/rev feed rate drilled hole deviation is minimum.
