Web-based personal health record systems evaluation

Abstract: This research is an exploratory study of personal health records to identify their roles in healthcare and to identify whether the web-based Personal Health Records (PHRs) available online meet the functionality of Electronic Health Records (EHRs) so that they will assist in preventing medical errors and enhance safety. The evaluation of web-based PHRs were conducted to answer the research question. It has been concluded that web-based PHRs can be identified as one of the tools in assisting patient safety.
