Abstract: The Internet is becoming a very important new technology in all organisations, including universities. Many in academia are adopting this innovative technology to aid in their teaching, research and consulting. Despite such use there is little empirical research investigating the factors associated with the use of the Internet in universities and comparative research across countries is practically non-existent. In this paper, we examine the factors affecting the use of the Internet by a random sample of 344 business school faculty in the United States (245) and Thailand (99). We found some similarities, as well as differences across the two countries. Implications for management and suggestions for future research are discussed.
