Abstract: The control of damages during the set up of the determining overburden pressure apparatuses in the types of related experiments to flooding is one of the main purposes at the enhanced oil recovery and mechanic rock laboratories. Therefore, the uncertainly of accurate overburden pressure is not only time consuming but also is very expensive. Three parameters - inter-granular space (IGS), inter-fracture space (IFS) and fracture width (FW) - are parameters affecting fluid conductivity and the layers' overburden pressure during the different hydrocarbonic layers operations in the field as well as core samples at the laboratory. In equations the three classification tables of IGS, IFS and FW with the experimental, microscopic and macroscopic data for types of rocks have been applied. In equations to the experimental scale for types of rocks the FW and other petrophysic and geology information under reservoir conditions (temperature ≥ 80°C) have been applied in three ranges of porosity that its field scale results to the oil and water wells have been given in the overburden pressure equations of a point and/or a defined layer (Karimi et al., 2012, 2014). So, before conducting the experiments between rock and fluid in which we aim to treat/measure the damages, the derived equations can be a fast and effective method to estimate the overburden pressure at core sample.
