Abstract: A new measuring system to evaluate quickly the accuracy of transmission gears more correctly has been developed, in which the profile and lead measuring machine is connected on line with a personal-computer and the data are analysed automatically. This computer-aided system gives the value of tooth deterioration and the heat-treatment distortion tendency. Moreover, its error analysing system designates the tooth surface three-dimensionally and analyses the effect of the tooth accuracy on the noise caused by gear meshing.
