Abstract: This study developed a logistic regression model to identify and analyse the factors that could affect environmental behaviour of the urban poor concerning solid waste management. The study analysed primary data collected from the level of living conditions of the urban poor residing in the squatters and low-cost flats of Kuala Lumpur city, Malaysia. The study gives evidence to the effect that the urban poor usually play a proactive role in solid waste management and their low income and socio-economic profile are not proven as causal to environmental degradation.
