Preparing specialists for productive engineering activity
by Prof. G. Morgunov
International Journal of Continuing Engineering Education and Life-Long Learning (IJCEELL), Vol. 1, No. 3, 1991

Abstract: The paper examines the problem of qualitative improvement of the preparation of High School graduates and ways of achieving educational aims. The method described is based on the PEA ideology and rests on different MPEI specialities. Scientific research and material maintenance, as well as the organisation and practical realisation of the educational process, aimed at creating engineers of a new generation, are looked upon here as a project task. Although the task seems to be extremely difficult, a successive set of project procedures can be identified. These procedures lead to important constructive results: the qualification characteristics of a graduate, new educational plans and programs, etc. The paper includes only initial individual aspects of the work, and is published with the intention of stimulating discussion with interested parties.
