Abstract: An analysis of the Portuguese demand market for high technologies professional training using advanced learning technologies was carried out within the scope of the EC's COMETT and DELTA programs, and its results are summarised here. The analysis was based on a field study of the business and the university sectors. The business sector covered most large companies, SMEs and industrial associations. As representative of the university sector, only the Instituto Superior Tecnico (Lisbon Technical University) was surveyed. Technological areas expected to be in most demand in the future were identified, along with the type of business most likely to implement high technologies professional training. The preferences for the training material in terms of type and way of diffusion were also evaluated.
