Progress in Computational Fluid Dynamics, An International Journal (PCFD), Vol. 7, No. 2/3/4, 2007

Abstract: Progress in the modelling and simulation of flow processes in gas/particle systems carried out by the authors' research group are presented. Emphasis is given to Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) models that use multi-dimensional multi fluid techniques. Turbulence modelling strategies for gas/particle flows based on the kinetic theory for granular flows are given. Sub models for interfacial transfer processes and chemical kinetics modelling are presented. Examples are shown for several gas/particle systems, including flow in risers and reacting systems.
