Abstract: The technological progress and internet penetration in Chinese pop music has copious innovation opportunities. This study developed a 'popular music single with the interactive function of the lyrics and composition' as the research object with reference to innovation diffusion theory and interactive movies, using a nonlinear narrative to design the music content and music video, and using an interactive web application as a vehicle. Then, the sample measurement and questionnaire survey was carried out and supplemented by experts' in-depth interview. It is inferred that the audiences' willingness to adopt the research object is positive. In the aspects of relative advantage: compatibility, complexity, function, hedonic, social, and cognitive; it plays the greatest role on having a positive impact on willingness to use. In addition, a major discovery in the study was that the 'replay' function in the development of the work can galvanise high interest in the audience. The group who used the paid way of listening to pop music recognised the compatibility of this development work higher than that of the group who only use the free way of listening to pop music.
