Abstract: Climate change has led countries to alter their energy policies, pave way for greener environment, and enhance their performance regarding their energy sustainability. Energy sustainability is one of the most crucial aspects of modern economies as it is depended on technological, environmental, and socio-economic issues. In this context, multiple studies have focused on their research on development of energy systems that will be able to assist the countries to keep track of their energy policies. The main aim of this study is to introduce a framework that measures and classify countries regarding their energy sustainability. It uses multiple indicators based on the World Trilemma Index and evaluates 118 countries with the use of the UTADIS method. The results indicate how the examined indicators affect a country's energy performance and offer a new perspective regarding the design of new energy policies.
