Social network analysis (SNA) has been gaining momentum for use in many applications, ranging from mapping knowledge flows and gaps in organisations to creating collaborative networks. SNA has developed from the sociology, anthropology and education disciplines, and is a wonderful technique to use for identifying critical knowledge in organisations, relationships between various people within organisations, and to track the flows of knowledge between and within departments. Given this growing importance in SNA, we have decided to dedicate a special issue of IJNVO to SNA.

Subject Coverage
Suitable topics include but are not limited to:
  • Use of SNA to identify knowledge flows
  • Knowledge mapping enabled through SNA
  • How SNA can increase innovation and productivity
  • Using SNA to build networks
  • Case studies that describe applications of SNA in organisational settings
  • Transformation of social networks into value networks (i.e., relationship between SNA and value network analysis)
  • SNA tools and techniques
  • Next generation of SNA approaches and tools
