Special Issue on: "Advanced Challenges and Research Trends in Cloud and Grid Interoperability"

"Cloud" is a common metaphor for an internet accessible infrastructure, which hides most of the implementation and deployment details in the field of ICT. Cloud computing is becoming a scalable services delivery and consumption platform. Its backbone includes Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and the virtualisation of hardware and software. The goal of cloud computing is to share resources amongst cloud service consumers, cloud partners and cloud vendors in the cloud value chain. Cloud computing has been envisaged to be one of the mainstream powering technologies of future ICT and next generation networks.

This special issue will be focussed on the interoperability issues of grid and computing domains. It will mainly focus on designing interoperable components, and experiences and lessons learnt from developing interoperable services in the cloud and grid environment. The issue aims to provide a forum for researchers to share and exchange cloud and grid computing-related research, technologies, experience, and lessons for building clouds of interoperability and coordination capabilities and services.

We believe this issue will be a place for the research community to define their novel ideas in the current state of grid-cloud interoperability issues. In addition, it will help to define the future goals and services that cloud computing needs to support in various intensive commercial and enterprise applications.

Notes for Prospective Authors

Submitted papers should not have been previously published nor be currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. (N.B. Conference papers may only be submitted if the paper was not originally copyrighted and if it has been completely re-written).
