Abstract/Summary: Agility has been the trend in software development that led to the creation of the Agile Manifesto in 2001. Notwithstanding its roots from iterative development it has great emphasis on team collaboration and integration, frequent deliveries and ability to adapt to changing business needs. In this paper, the researcher had an inspiration to develop an agile model in the development of a course for information technology and allied engineering education programs as a solution to bridge the widening gap between expected skill sets of new employees for information technology and engineering services outsourcing (IT-ESO) and those required by the industry. Specifically focused on software quality assurance, the study presents the current status of the software testing education in the Philippines and the impact of the implementation of the agile course development model for offshore outsourcing.
