Abstract/Summary: Keywords analysis is an essential process for the university research management. The result can be analyzed to know the real research focuses and directions of the university from the research keywords which are actually known. Because all of university research information are stored in the database, so it would be useful if the university uses the text mining technology and keyword identifying technique to manage the research database. One method used to identify keywords is citation proximity analysis (CPA). CPA is a document similarity measure that uses citation analysis. Additionally, the researcher policy management can be guided by this research ontology. After that, this information can be combined to decision support system for the university president. This paper describes a framework for university research management. This system consists of two main components: automatic information retrieval and information extraction module for retrieving electronic researches from university research database using the text mining technique and keywords verification module, and CPA to determine the keywords.
