Abstract/Summary: The role of product lifecycle management (PLM) has evolved from a set of engineering oriented tools into an enterprise-level solution for modern business. PLM data is not limited to engineering data anymore; it will be linked with data from project management, quality assurance, resource management, etc. While current technologies like ontologies enable a seamless integration of data from different sources, the analysis of this data has become a challenge. Higher maturity levels in the capability maturity model integration (CMMI) demand quantitative control of process performance. Since every domain requires its own set of metrics and analysis methods there is no common framework to enable these different kinds of analyses on integrated data. In this paper requirements for the framework will be identified with the help of use cases from different domains. They form the basis for a generic analysis tool. A conclusion with a summary and an outlook on further activities is given at the end of the paper.
