Abstract/Summary: Intelligent products moved into the research focus of several research domains. These domains are product lifecycle management, internet of things and logistics, to name a few. They all have quite a common understanding of the intelligent product and their envisioned abilities. A key finding of the autonomous logistics research is the demand for positive emergence that should arise out of the global system when applying decentralized intelligent products. This paper concentrates on the first integration attempts of intelligent products in the context of autonomous logistics processes and presents a demonstration platform which assembles automotive tail-lights autonomously.
