Abstract/Summary: This paper focuses on studying the Product Change Process Management PCPM1 by a Value Management approach based on functional and value analysis. The study is supported by an industrial case study to try to understand company’s current practices in the PCPM in order to improve its management. First, the existing PCPM of the company has been audited. The audit helps to identify: different steps followed, malfunctions, interfaces with other services and internal process dynamic. Second, a model has been developed to orient all development activities towards customer satisfaction by increasing product/services performances and quality. The model is built according to problem-solving techniques to deal, correctly, with product changes which are considered, in all cases, as disturbing problems. Third, the application of value management gives better understanding of the interaction between functions, costs and time in PCPM. This work aims, specially, to evaluate the impact of changes on product costs and delivery lead-time.
