Special Issue on: "Supply Chain Security Issues in Intermodal Transport"

Guest Editor:
Prof. Daniel Ekwall, University of Borås, Sweden

The events and issues linked to security in international transport have received increasing attention from business actors, authorities and research organisations. The focus is on reducing losses and disruptions throughout the supply chain. The various supply chain security programmes launched during the last 15-20 years have mainly addressed limited parts/elements/sections of the international intermodal transport system. This has implications in that the intersections between these parts/elements/sections may have unintended security gaps, which increases the risk of losses and disruptions. This situation may be more pronounced in an intermodal setup.

The aim of this special issue is to present security issues linked to intermodal transportation. The goal is to act as a platform for the innovative work of the next generation of supply chain security research focus mainly linked to intermodal transport solutions.
