Special Issue on: "New Approaches for Transport, Logistics and Transformation"

Guest Editor:
Francesco Longo, University of Calabria, Italy

Transport, logistics and transportation continue to present new challenges and demand that researchers and practitioner find new and powerful approaches for dealing with the everyday complexities that affect operational and management processes. To this end, there is a growing effort towards the application of artificial intelligence techniques as well as mathematical modelling and software development.

Given that, the aim of this special issue is twofold: to appraise the current state of research, and to provide advanced approaches for the future development of the field. Therefore, the issue calls for papers that go beyond the current state of the art and have the potential to stimulate and guide future research efforts delineating critical paths for future research.

The issue will carry revised and substantially extended versions of selected papers presented at the 2014 International Workshop on Innovation for Logistics (WIN-LOG 2014), but we also strongly encourage researchers unable to participate in the conference to submit articles for this call.
