Abstract: The review of literature on managerial competencies illustrates the importance of augmented managerial performance. However, empirical researches on managerial competencies; that are essential for improved performance for manufacturing executives are scarce. Keeping in view the gaps in research, this paper examines the relationships among social, intellectual and personal competencies on managerial performance conducted at some manufacturing units in the state of Odisha in eastern India, making use of a structured questionnaire consisting of 30 items. In total, 380 responses were obtained and were subjected to analysis using the SPSS statistical software. The research concentrates on identifying the most important aspects of social, intellectual and personal competencies that link towards maximisation of managerial productivity within the organisation. The findings suggest that the variables of these three competencies are positively correlated with managerial performance. This paper suggests some measures of social, intellectual and personal competencies that the executives can adopt to improve their managerial performance within the organisation.
