Abstract: This paper proposes a set of Advanced Sunlight Shield Equipment (ASSE) composed of a flat balloon with an attitude control function. Balloon's surface has a mirror function. When ASSE is deployed in the stratosphere, its surface reflects sunlight to space effectively. The gross area of many sets of ASSE amounts to about 2.6 × 106 square kilometre, and when they are deployed, the global average atmospheric temperature value decreases by about 0.7 degrees centigrade. A total cost of ASSE for the average atmospheric temperature decrease is roughly estimated, and it is 1 to 30 × 1010 euro/year.

Keywords: global warming; sunlight shield equipment; cost; flat balloons; attitude control; mirror function; sunlight reflection; atmospheric temperature decrease.
