Abstract: A control oriented framework has been developed for analysing the influence of nonlinear element on the system dynamics. Proposed nonlinear element extraction technique is explained with the help of a mathematical model of the long term blood pressure regulatory system to reveal the impact of crucial nonlinear elements. The simulation results showed that the model is able to reproduce dynamic responses which are close to those of the actual nonlinear model. The linearised model study has also been performed to analyse the stability like structural properties. This technique will be useful for other nonlinear systems also.
