Abstract: This paper analyses the impact of Human Resources Management (HRM) practices on the innovation of an enterprise. It demonstrates that the creation of proinnovative attitudes takes place at each stage of the personnel process. An important role is played by the organisational culture as it builds the climate for innovation. In addition, the organisational and social barriers to innovation in Poland are presented. The author emphasises that the promotion of innovation and support for proinnovative attitudes in employees require the introduction of strategic solutions and their consequent implementation. On the basis of a comprehensive analysis, a diagnosis can be made and key learning points for HRM can be formulated.
