Abstract: Modern supply chains span multiple markets, suppliers and customers. Hierarchical decision making in such supply chains uses models and data with varying granularity for different levels. These models require formal methods of high-fidelity data management. This paper introduces wavelets as a mathematical lens to extract data at different scales. Its development will enrich data selection techniques in modern information-overloaded, volatile supply chains.

Keywords: supply chain management; SCM; data management; hierarchical planning; wavelets; multi-resolution analysis; data aggregation; data disaggregation; decision making.
