Abstract: This paper is aimed at studying the influence of the glass fibre reinforcement on the surface roughness under the cutting parameters prefixed. Experimental studies were carried out for composites PA 6 and PA 66-GF30 using Polycrystalline Diamond (PCD) tool. Surface roughness is represented by different profile amplitude parameters and proposed ratios. With appropriate cutting parameters, it is possible to obtain machined surfaces with <0.8 um of Ra. Consequently, it is possible to achieve surface qualities (dimensional precision) in composite workpiece of mechanic precision, IT 5 and 6.
