Abstract: This paper explores the e-business adoption considerations of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Jordan. The factors were identified based on the technological, organisational and, environmental (TOE) framework. Previous literature and focus discussion groups were deployed to develop the initial questionnaire, which includes most of the determinants that SMEs are likely to face. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses were carried out using two separate samples that correspond to the SMEs in Jordan. Structural equation modelling was used to test the hypotheses of the effect of these factors on the adoption of e-business. The results showed that adoption is affected positively by technological factors and negatively by environmental factors, whereas there was no effect of organisational factors. The study provides a comprehensive view of the TOE framework, taking into account the limitations faced by the study in order to develop a future direction when adopting technology.
