Abstract: Blockchain technology has emerged as a viable network security solution, combining decentralisation, immutability, anonymity, security, and auditability. This study aims to evaluate the potential advantages of incorporating blockchain technology within various networking technologies, which cover the Internet of Things (IoT), wireless sensor networks (WSN), mobile ad hoc networks (MANET), and vehicular ad hoc networks (VANET). With a primary emphasis on the safeguarding of user data and the preservation of privacy, the study seeks to investigate the capacity of blockchain to mitigate the security challenges that are intrinsic to these technological frameworks. The manuscript commences with an extensive examination of blockchain, elucidating its various forms, applications, merits, and constraints. The report highlights the benefits and drawbacks of blockchain-centric solutions by evaluating them across a range of network categories. Although blockchain technology has improved security, problems still exist, and there is promise in combining machine intelligence with deep learning.
