The growth of broadband internet in Sweden: contributing factors

Abstract: The Swedish broadband market has rapidly developed and Sweden has one of the highest penetration rates in the world. The success of broadband market in Sweden is attributed to many factors. This paper examines those factors that have contributed to the broadband development in Sweden. Among other things, the following three are noticeable: fierce competition, the government initiatives and some cultural and social factors. These characteristics are discussed in relation to the factors in the broadband development in South Korea.
